Senior Buyer – Packaging | Glasgow | Up to £50,000 + Benefits Location: Glasgow Sector: Procurement / Packaging Salary: Up to £50,000 + benefits Alexander Steele have partnered exclusively with a well-established and growing packaging business based in Glasgow to recruit a Senior Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the full procurement function and play a key role in driving commercial performance across the business. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing all packaging procurement activities, leading a small buying team, and ensuring stock levels are well controlled to meet operational needs. This is a key leadership role within the business and offers a great platform for further progression. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage all procurement activities for packaging products across multiple categories. * Build, maintain, and develop strong relationships with suppliers. * Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve best value. * Manage and develop a small team of Buyers and Procurement Assistants. * Oversee and improve stock intake and inventory control. * Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and pricing activity. * Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and logistics to ensure effective supply chain operations. What We’re Looking For: * Significant experience in a senior buying or procurement role, ideally within packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors. * Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts effectively. * Experience leading or developing a procurement team. * Excellent supplier relationship and stakeholder management skills. * Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset. * Comfortable working with procurement and stock systems.
