Location: Reading, Berkshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS1 (ECT Scale) An inclusive and high-achieving secondary school in Reading is looking to appoint a Food Technology Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their creative and passionate faculty from September 2025. You will teach Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that focus on nutrition, cooking techniques, and food science, encouraging students to develop both technical skills and an understanding of healthy lifestyles. Your Role Plan and deliver interactive, practical lessons that inspire creativity and confidence in the kitchen. Provide timely feedback and support to help all students achieve their potential. Lead extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs and food-related competitions. Engage fully with the school’s structured ECT programme offering tailored mentoring and training. Ideal Candidate You will hold a degree related to Food Technology or Nutrition and be on track to achieve QTS by July 2025. Excellent communication skills, a passion for practical teaching, and enthusiasm for promoting healthy living are essential.
