Job Vacancy: Nursery Practitioner - Full-Time & Part-Time
Location: Darlington
Daily Rate: 105 to 120 (depending on hours worked)

Are you an enthusiastic, nurturing individual with a passion for early years education? Empowering Learning are currently recruiting Nursery Practitioners to support private day nurseries in Darlington . Both full-time and part-time roles are available with flexible working options.

What's Involved in the Role?

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment where children aged 0-5 years can learn, grow, and thrive. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Caring for Children:

  • Ensuring the well-being, health, and safety of all children in your care
  • Supporting babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children through their daily routines, including meal times, toileting, nappy changes, and rest periods

Supporting Learning & Development:

  • Delivering engaging activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Encouraging exploration, creativity, and curiosity through play and planned learning experiences
  • Observing, assessing, and recording children's progress and milestones

Building Relationships:

  • Creating strong, trusting bonds with children and their families
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and caring environment
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers, providing daily updates and sharing progress

Maintaining a Safe & Clean Setting:

  • Ensuring the nursery space is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
  • Following safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures in line with nursery policies

Planning & Record Keeping:

  • Assisting with curriculum planning, observations, and child profiles
  • Contributing ideas to planning meetings and helping to develop new activity ideas

What We're Looking For:

Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting
A genuine love of working with children
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
