D&T Teacher

Are you a highly creative and practical Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher with a specialism in Food & Nutrition, capable of inspiring culinary skills and an understanding of healthy living? An Outstanding boys' school in Barnet is seeking a dynamic, full-time permanent D&T Food & Nutrition Teacher this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to foster problem-solving skills, design thinking, and practical expertise in students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5.

What you'll be doing:

• You'll be designing and delivering engaging D&T lessons with a focus on Food & Nutrition, encompassing healthy eating, food preparation techniques, and ingredient science.
• It's about encouraging creativity, active experimentation, and the development of culinary skills for life.
• You'll be responsible for maintaining a safe and organised kitchen environment and inspiring students to explore the world of food.

What we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Design & Technology (Food & Nutrition).
• Proven experience teaching D&T effectively at Key Stages 3 and 4, with A-level experience being an advantage.
• Strong practical skills in food preparation and a broad knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating.
• Excellent communication skills, strong classroom management, and a genuine ability to inspire innovation and culinary talent.
