The Opportunity
As our Work Placement Coordinator, you will play an important role in helping our students gain meaningful industry experience that supports their learning and future ambitions. This is a part-time opportunity, working 30 hours per week, based at our state-of-the-art CUBE construction centre a dynamic and purpose-built environment where you will be part of a forward-thinking and supportive team.
You will work closely with our teaching staff and managers to source, coordinate and manage high-quality work placement opportunities tailored to the needs of our construction students. You will build strong relationships with employers across the local and regional business community, reaching out through face-to-face meetings, email campaigns, social media, networking events and phone calls. Your focus will be on creating valuable placements that reflect both industry standards and the goals of the curriculum.
You will visit employers and our students to monitor placements, ensuring they are safe, relevant and beneficial. Supporting our students throughout the process, you will help them identify their career interests and find placements that match their ambitions, giving them the confidence and experience they need to succeed in the construction industry.
You will be expected to meet placement targets, keep accurate records of your work, and provide regular updates on your activity. You will be a key member of the Work Placement team, working across departments to support a joined-up approach to employer engagement and student success.

About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive and able to build strong relationships with both students and employers. You will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong organisation, time management and team working abilities. A positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting young people as they prepare for their future careers is essential.
You should have experience of working with young people in an educational setting, as well as experience within a customer-focused environment. You will be comfortable liaising with employers and have a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships across different sectors. An understanding of the needs of students within the workplace will be key to supporting them effectively during their placements.
We are also looking for someone who can prioritise their workload, stay self-motivated and manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy. You should be confident using IT systems for word processing, data inputting and maintaining accurate records of your activity.
