We are currently recruiting an HR Advisor for this successful business based in Harrogate. You will be based in the main head office supporting the 3 local sites so there will be some travel between sites which are all local to Harrogate. You will be an integral part of the small friendly HR & payroll team.

This is an interesting and varied HR Advisor role which would suit someone who is already working in a similar position, or someone who has some experience in, but is looking for the next step in their career. You may have worked as a HR Administrator or Advisor. Support can be provided for CIPD qualifications, however if you have started your studies this would be advantageous.

The main purpose of this role is to support the HR Manager, ensuring all staffing issues are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner. You will provide employees with advice and administrative support alongside supporting the payroll department .

Responsibilities:

  • Create new employee files
  • Assist in all on boarding processes for new starters
  • Update and maintain all employee files including absence, holidays, appraisals, references, right to work checks, visa status checks, DBS certificates etc.
  • Issue offer letters, contracts and new starter packs ready for day 1 inductions
  • Record and monitor sickness absence
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Assist payroll by checking weekly and monthly time sheet submissions, including overtime, holiday pay, etc.
  • Take minutes of meetings when required
  • Assist with various HR projects as and when required
  • Continue CIPD training to develop skills and understanding within HR

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths as a minimum
  • CIPD level 3 would be preferred but training can be provided
  • Previous experience working in a HR department
  • Will consider experience or qualifications, both would be advantageous
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Any experience in disciplinary hearings would be beneficial
  • UK driving license and transport would be a benefit for travelling between sites

Due to the nature of this business, upon successful application you will be required to have an adult and child barred DBS certificate. This will be paid for upon offer of the job.
