Packing Operative


Hours: Monday - Friday, 10am - 7pm

Scope of the Role:

As a Packaging and logistics operative, this is a very diverse role that needs a proactive and hands-on approach. This will cover aspects such as the packing of the luxury graphics, Goods-in, Storage, loading of vehicles and dispatching parcels.

You will have to be able to adapt quickly to new tasks and to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You may also be asked to assist a driver on a delivery or installation, so you will need to be flexible in working unsociable hours if the situation requires. But predominantly, you will be based in the packaging area.

Packaging departmentThe general day-to-day roles inside the packaging area consist of collating the graphics/builds coming through the building and quality checking them to make sure they are to our clients high standard. You would then use the correct packaging method and various hand tools to package the items securely and effectively. Following the procedures put in place to meet the requirements, whether it would be an international delivery, UK delivery or for the installation team. You will also need to have basic computer skills as you will be using our WMS(warehouse management systems) to follow the job through the building and sign them off once packed. Another area where the packing department helps out, is the goods-in team, where you will help to take in the deliveries and put them where needed. This will mean you will have to be physically fit to assist with this. You will also carry out other duties such as general maintenance and tidiness around the warehouses if needed.

StorageThis aspect of the job role is to assist the storage team with taking items in and out of storage, coming back from installations or deliveries. This will then be allocated a bay inside one of the storage units, packed, logged and labelled into the company storage database for the relevant people to access this information.

DispatchWith regards to the distributions of parcels, this will be to book the parcels on the system to be collected and distributed across UK and Europe. Using the software portal supplied.

InstallationsThis will be on the rare occasion but to assist with installs and making sure they are done to the highest standard.

Essential Criteria (Skills & Experience): Experience in warehousing and packaging goods. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in taking on new roles. Flexibility and willingness to travel if required. Work well as part of a team and to help other departments if required. Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members. Counterbalance forklift operator. (Desired but not required)
