We are looking for an experienced Security Coordinator to join the Facilities team at RSPB UKHQ in Sandy.

Salary: £27,123.00 - £28,956.00 Per Annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5hrs hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday 10:45am - 7pm

The role will be responsible for the day-to-day security of the buildings and working with the wider RSPB organisation in providing the required security cards for our workspaces. The successful candidate will have strong people and communication skills as there will be a requirement to interact with external companies and members of the public when necessary.

What's the role about?

  • To ensure effective site security to always minimise any associated security risks.
  • Manage and monitor all security systems
  • Oversee and liaise with the outside contracted security company.
  • Escalating as appropriate any day-to-day concerns and provide resolution.
  • Review security procedures annually and/or after any significant changes to the site.
  • Being responsible for the daily lock up of site Monday to Friday. Liaising with the Reserve and security company as and when required (e.g. late openings, emergencies).
  • Manage the ID card system.
  • Provide quarterly information to the Head of Central Operations on any Security issues.
  • Draw together source material relating to H&S and Security that is pertinent to the work undertaken at RSPB .
  • Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported appropriately with full details following investigation.
  • You may be asked at times to cover additional duties outside of the specific objectives above.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Qualification in security or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft software packages.
  • Must be able to deal with out of hours calls and attend site out of hours if appropriate.
  • Organisational including time management and prioritisation.
  • Flexible attitude and the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of ICT security systems
