Health And Safety Manager


Job Title: Health and Safety Manager Location: London (Occasional visits to sites across the UK) Industry: Construction – Interior Fit-Out Employment Type: Full-Time Start Date: Immediate Start Preferred About the Role We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Health and Safety professional to join our team within the fast-paced interior fit-out sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to grow their career and make a real impact in construction health and safety. As a Health and Safety Manager, you will support the delivery and ongoing improvement of health and safety practices across multiple commercial fit-out projects. You will conduct site visits, carry out audits, and collaborate closely with project teams to foster a strong, positive safety culture. Key Responsibilities * Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, internal standards, and best practices * Review contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) on a sample basis * Investigate incidents and near misses; compile detailed reports and suggest corrective actions * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, and training activities * Engage with site managers, subcontractors, and clients to promote and maintain safe working conditions * Support data collection, KPI monitoring, and safety performance analysis * Assist in the preparation and delivery of training sessions and presentations * Provide occasional out-of-hours and weekend support when required * Help update health and safety documentation, policies, and procedures * Support the maintenance of company accreditations (e.g. ISO 45001, RoSPA, Constructionline Platinum, SafeContractor, Once For All SSIP) Essential Qualifications & Experience * NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety * Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) * SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) * Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle * Up to 3 years’ experience in the construction industry (interior fit-out experience preferred) Key Skills & Attributes * Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation * Confident in engaging with both site personnel and senior leadership * Flexible with availability for weekend and out-of-hours work if needed * Competent in using Microsoft Office applications * Familiarity with SafetyCulture (iAuditor) is a plus, but not required What We Offer * Ongoing training and career development, including CPD opportunities * Reimbursement for mileage and travel expenses * Private medical insurance (including access to a private GP) * Employee Assistance Programme * Discounts on gym memberships, shopping, cinema tickets, and more * Annual mini health checks
