Senior Planner

Job Title: Senior Planner Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working) Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + excellent package Contract: Permanent, Full Time Are you an experienced Senior Planner with a strong track record in complex infrastructure or rail projects? We’re recruiting on behalf of a high-profile organisation delivering a nationally significant programme, and they’re looking for someone to lead schedule integration across a major delivery area. The Role As a Senior Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing integrated project schedules, identifying key interfaces and dependencies, and supporting programme-level coordination. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that time, cost, and quality metrics are aligned and effectively reported. Key Responsibilities * Lead the development of integrated schedules for major projects. * Coordinate with project managers and controls teams to manage project timelines and risks. * Support ‘what-if’ scenario planning and provide solutions to programme conflicts. * Ensure consistency and assurance in planning submissions from the supply chain. * Develop and implement planning policy, processes, and standards. * Support and mentor junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement across the team. Requirements * Proven experience in a senior planning role on large, complex infrastructure projects. * Strong knowledge of project controls functions: scheduling, risk, cost, and change management. * Expert-level skills in Primavera P6; familiarity with tools such as Prism, CEMAR, etc. * Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. * Understanding of NEC contracts and project lifecycle governance procedures.
