Commercial Gas Engineer



Commercial Gas Engineer / Chiller and Boiler Specialist Engineer - Kent or Redditch Based


We are currently working on behalf of a highly respected specialist hire company who are looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer / Chiller and Boiler Specialist Engineer .


Our client operates nationwide, supporting commercial, industrial, private, and public sector clients with temporary heating, cooling, and hot water solutions. With ambitious growth plans and a commitment to innovation, they are now seeking a driven and knowledgeable individual to support the ongoing development of their operations.


The Role:
The successful candidate will join a supportive and experienced team, working across a variety of sites installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial temporary boiler systems and air-cooled chillers. You will also be involved in modifying existing pipework in older plant rooms.


Key Duties Include:


  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial temporary boilers and chillers

  • Diagnosing and resolving faults on chilled water systems, AHUs, and forced draft burners

  • Modifying existing plant room pipework

  • Regular travel to client sites - a company vehicle will be provided

  • Supporting less experienced engineers and contributing to ongoing training

  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with safety and compliance standards


Key Requirements:


  • Strong background in commercial mechanical systems, including:

  • LTHW systems

  • Chilled water systems

  • Natural gas and oil-fired boiler systems

  • Control wiring and electrical services

  • Experience with air-cooled chillers and AHUs

  • Relevant qualifications, including:

  • Commercial Gas Safe certification

  • F-Gas refrigeration certification

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Based locally to either the Kent or Redditch depot

  • Flexibility to support call-out rota and emergency work as required

  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (some client sites require clearance)

    Salary & Benefits:

    • Competitive starting salary - dependent on experience

    • Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
