SEN Teaching Assistant – ARP Unit (Lewisham) Full-time | September Start | £101.40 – £110 per day (experience dependent) A rewarding, full-time SEN role in a respected Lewisham primary school – perfect for those who thrive in calm, nurturing environments. We are supporting a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Lewisham with a specialist on-site ARP unit. The school supports children with high SEN and SEMH needs from across the borough. You will be joining a dedicated provision that offers structured, targeted support to pupils who require tailored interventions to thrive. This long-term role is ideal for experienced SEN support staff, psychology graduates, or aspiring teachers and therapists looking to gain meaningful classroom experience before progressing in education or clinical fields. About the Role You’ll work directly in the school’s ARP provision, reporting to the ARP Unit Manager and SENCO. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils aged 5–11 with communication, sensory, emotional, and behavioural needs Providing 1:1 and small group support, including emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies Adapting learning materials and approaches with the guidance of the SEN team Building positive routines and helping pupils access learning in a calm, consistent environment Supporting personal care when required What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in school or care settings Confident working with children with autism, ADHD, and SEMH Calm, patient and emotionally resilient Comfortable working 1:1 or as part of a structured intervention team Enthusiastic about working with pupils with complex needs and helping them make progress socially and emotionally Why Apply Through Milk Education?
