Mechanical Design Engineer Sheffield £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits We’re working with a specialist design and manufacturing company based in Sheffield, seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across the civil, structural, and mechanical sectors, including high-profile bridges and building structures. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing precision mechanical components and bespoke connection details, using industry-standard design tools and collaborating with a skilled engineering team to deliver robust, high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and custom connections Produce accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Perform structural and mechanical calculations using MathCAD Work closely with engineers across disciplines to ensure functional and practical designs Support manufacturing and fabrication teams with technical input and modifications Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design of components and structural connections Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD Hands-on experience with MathCAD for design calculations Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and structural principles If you’re a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take the next step in your career and work on technically challenging and rewarding projects, we’d love to hear from you.
