We are seeking a highly driven Assistant Clerk of Works to join our clients Birmingham team, working across a variety of projects throughout the Midlands and the North.
The Assistant Clerk of Works will join a client who is experiencing ongoing growth, consistently securing new business each month. Operating across sectors including residential, commercial, arts and leisure, and education, the primary focus is residential development. Assistant Clerk of Works Requirements
We re looking for an individual who demonstrates:
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects to deadlines
  • A customer-focused, professional attitude
  • Team-player mentality, with a proactive approach to working with clients and colleagues
  • Solid knowledge of building construction
  • Excellent inspection and report-writing capabilities
  • Clear and confident verbal communication, especially in meetings
  • The ability to follow direction while using initiative when required
  • Commercial awareness and financial acumen
  • A full, clean UK driving licence travel to various sites is essential
Job Summary
As an Assistant Clerk of Works, you will support the Clerk of Works team by inspecting the quality, safety, and workmanship of construction works, and reporting to Surveyors, Aftercare teams, and clients. You ll be involved in leading developments that have a meaningful impact on communities. Each day brings variety, as you ll be conducting inspections across diverse sites.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Attending initial and ongoing project meetings with the client and project team to understand the project specification and Employer's Requirements
  • Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Producing and distributing site inspection reports, progress updates, and quality control documentation
  • Capturing progress through photographs
  • Participating in site meetings and offering verbal updates to clients and the project team
  • Assisting with snagging and de-snagging tasks
  • Supporting handover procedures
