Part Time Legal Cashier/Bookkeeper


We are recruiting for a Part Time Legal Cashier/Bookkeeper for a law firm based in North Hertfordshire

Part time hours 4 hours a day 5 days a week, a total of 20 hours a week - times worked are flexible

Office based position.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a law firm and be familiar Xero accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day processing of client and office accounts in-line with Solicitors Accounts Rules regulations.
  • Administration of online banking system.
  • General bookkeeping - including bank reconciliations.
  • Managing client bank accounts and processing payments on their behalf.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Conducting bookkeeping tasks ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Supporting the year-end accounts process.
  • Using Xero accounting software, LEAP and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Liaising with clients and responding to any queries.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in a law firm
  • Experience of Xero accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and have good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and independently.
