Introduction:
Our client, a leading provider of engineering services to heavy industry sectors such as Energy, Refinery, Aggregates, and Utilities, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This exciting opportunity is based at the head office in Brentwood and involves covering various sites across the UK. What's on Offer:

• Salary: 34,000 to 47,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on rotating equipment, including large turbines and a range of pumps

• Conduct maintenance on auxiliary and balance of plant (BOP) equipment

• Use measuring equipment such as micrometers and alignment tooling

• Complete both workshop and field service activities, including detailed reports on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical equipment issues in heavy engineering sectors

• Perform fault finding, defect repairs, and routine maintenance on commercial and heavy industry machinery

• Assist in leading planned projects and outages as required

• Manage work schedules efficiently

Experience Required:

• Mechanical qualifications such as ONC, HNC, NVQ, or equivalent are essential

• Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning

• Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• A full, preferably clean, driving license is essential

• Relevant knowledge and experience in heavy engineering sectors, particularly power generation, prime movers, and BOP

• OEM pump or turbine experience and a strong background in rotating equipment is preferred

• Strong technical abilities, including measuring and reporting skills

• Good physical fitness with a flexible and positive outlook

• Availability for callouts on a 1 in 5 basis and willingness to work away from home when necessary
