Opus Vitae is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking accountancy firm that’s embracing the future of digital finance. Based in Hereford with additional offices in Ludlow and Shrewsbury, they are now looking for a Bookkeeper to join their growing team and support a range of clients using modern, cloud-based accounting tools. If you’re confident with digital systems, detail-focused, and looking to be part of a company that values innovation and flexibility, this could be the role for you. What you could be doing... * Keeping digital finance records accurate, consistent, and up to date * Reconciling transactions and resolving any account mismatches * Managing bank feeds and processing online payments efficiently * Uploading purchase invoices using smart automation tools * Preparing and submitting VAT returns across a varied client portfolio * Offering hands-on support to clients on their day-to-day financial processes * Managing your own workflow and priorities while contributing to a collaborative team What we’re looking for... * At least 2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role (practice or industry considered) * Confident using cloud-based software like Xero and Dext * Solid knowledge of bookkeeping practices, ideally up to Trial Balance * Organised, methodical, and confident working across multiple clients * Great communication skills with a proactive, can-do mindset * A genuine interest in tech and how it can improve the way we work * Able to hit deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment What you’ll get in return... * Flexible working hours * CPD support and access to mentoring programmes * Free on-site parking * Generous pension scheme * Sick pay * Company-wide socials and team events * A modern, people-first culture where development and innovation are key This is a permanent role and you will be employed directly through the employer
