Technical Team Leader

Technical Team Leader Redditch £35-40k What are work orders in manufacturing? A work order is a request to manufacture a certain quantity of products. It contains information on the model, route, and quantity of a product that must be manufactured. We are delighted to be working with our precision engineering client in Redditch who are looking for someone with manufacturing or engineering experience to join their Production Admin Team as a Technical Team Leader. This role is the ‘kingpin’ between the sales team getting an order on and the part being engineered and made in the workshop. The Technical Team Leader will oversee the production team, having 3 people report to them. You will have come from a manufacturing background and cannot only read and interpret engineering drawings but push back and question things if they don’t look quite right. You must be a ‘completer finisher’ as the jobs need to be seen all the way through to the end, with any problems or quality checks being scheduled along the way. You will have a passion for getting things ‘just right’ and high levels of attention to detail. The successful Technical Team Leader will be as happy in the workshop as in a manufacturing office, managing the work packs and putting the orders on the MRP system. You will love talking to people and asking questions as communication is paramount in the success of this new role. This role is heavily admin lead but you have a strong team around you to share the load. This is high-volume, high-tolerance machining environment so confidence in your ability within engineering is a must.
