Job Title: Bid Manager - Construction Location: West Malling, UK Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience). Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Bid Manager with proven experience in the construction industry to lead our bid management process. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification through to submission, ensuring compliance with client requirements and alignment with company objectives. Responsibilities: * Lead the bid management process for both public and private sector construction projects, from opportunity identification through to submission and post-bid activities. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers, estimators, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive bid strategies and solutions. * Conduct thorough reviews of tender documentation to understand client requirements, project scope, and evaluation criteria. * Coordinate and lead bid kick-off meetings to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and timelines for bid development. * Develop and maintain bid documentation including bid plans, schedules, risk registers, and compliance matrices. * Coordinate the preparation of high-quality bid submissions, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with client requirements. * Manage the bid review process, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to enhance bid quality and competitiveness. * Support negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and partners as needed to secure successful outcomes. * Monitor and evaluate bid performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned into future bid activities. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). * Proven track record as a Bid Manager within the construction industry, with at least [X] years of experience managing bids for construction projects. * Comprehensive understanding of bid management processes, methodologies, and best practices. * Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively. * Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet tight deadlines. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid management software (e.g., Aconex, Procore, Prolog). * Experience with public sector procurement processes (e.g., OJEU, CCS frameworks) preferred but not required. * Professional accreditation (e.g., APMP, CIOB) desirable but not essential
