Accounting & Finance Assistant


Job Description: To collaborate closely with Management Accountant to provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making. Support in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers. To support in the production of trusted management information Balance Sheet Collaborate on creating accurate and timely management accounts, financial statements, and various reports. Work with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance processes using the SAGE 200c system, under the supervision of Management Accountant (MA). Support Full reconciliations of balance sheet and GL accounts including fixed asset register monthly. AP and AR support Obtaining sign-off to pay invoices from colleagues and ensuring POs are complete. Daily processing of AP invoices and management of the AP inbox. Produce supplier statement reconciliations and weekly Q report. Support in the reconciliations of VAT and submission of VAT returns. Ensuring company processes are regularly reviewed, updated, and fit for purpose. Creating invoices and issuing them to customers Support with external and internal Audit. Provide support for financial planning and analysis projects as needed. Key Objectives Ensure payment runs reviewed and delivered over 1 day. Support and enable a 5-day month close. Journal processing. Maintenance of the ERP Skills & Education Previous experience in this role Excellent communication skills Experience working in a manufacturing / engineering / construction environment. Previous experience of SAGE 200 (and preferably Power BI) Part qualified CIMA ACCA studier, or AAT Qualified would be beneficial. A can-do attitude, willing to go the extra mile.
