EEE Components Engineer


On behalf of our client, we are looking for an EEE (Electronic and Electromechanical) Components/Parts Engineer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. The role holder will support some of our client's biggest Space and Satellite Manufacturing Projects. The successful candidate will work autonomously and possess strong interpersonal skills with an eye for delivering successful projects within budgets and quality Adherence.
Due to the nature of this project, applicants must be British Nationals only.

Role : EEE Components/Parts Engineer
Pay : 38.00 per hour via Umbrella
Location : Portsmouth
Contract : 6- month contract
IR35 Status : Inside
Security Clearance : BPSS+ SC Clearance, British Nationals only

Responsibilities:

The Component Engineer is accountable to the project core team leader and responsible for all aspects of component delivery, ultimately assuring that components are available in production to cost, schedule and at the right quality level.

  • Providing Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) Component expertise for Electronic Equipment production.
  • Knowledge of component technologies, passive, active and electromechanical, associated manufacturing techniques, screening and qualification methods.
  • Undertaking costing and bid support, EEE & PCB selection, demand management, labour spend and usage support, including technical and quality support to end-customer.
  • Collection and harmonization of EEE needs from internal customers, propose technical solution to commodity/strategy group, feed-back agreed roadmap to internal customers and ensure application in design team via the Local Parts Committee.
  • Responsible for technical/quality support to end-customer (internal or external) as well as to lower tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurements.

Skillset & Experience

Essential :

  • Knowledge and experience in Electronic Component Engineering preferably in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Automotive, Rail, Nuclear, Marine etc.)
  • Project Management exposure, specifically the delivery of projects against quality, schedule and cost requirements.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external networks.
  • Must be comfortable managing the interface between internal projects and EEE support teams, pushing back when necessary.
  • Good understanding of current quality practices.
  • Higher level engineering qualification HNC/HND or Degree
