Company Overview: We are a respected construction consultancy firm specializing in providing high-quality quantity surveying services to public sector clients and custodial institutions. With a strong commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, we are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Manchester. Position Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects, with a focus on public sector and custodial facilities. Your experience in these sectors will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects and meeting the unique requirements and challenges of our clients. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the commercial management of public sector and custodial projects, including cost control, procurement, and contract administration. * Provide expert advice on contractual matters, ensuring compliance with relevant procurement regulations and contractual provisions. * Conduct detailed cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential opportunities and threats to project profitability. * Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, valuations, and final accounts, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors, negotiating favourable terms and resolving commercial issues effectively. * Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help develop their skills. * Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Requirements: * Minimum of 8 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on public sector or custodial projects. * Strong understanding of relevant procurement regulations and contractual frameworks, including NEC and JCT forms of contract. * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contractual provisions and produce accurate financial reports. * Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. * Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the North West region.
