Credit Control Coordinator


PURPOSE OF JOB To ensure timely collection of monies owed to HMM in order to positively exceed the KPI’s set by HMM GBR Management, EHQ, and Seoul HQ. Under the guidance and supervision of the Credit Control Supervisor, to drive the timely collection of monies from customers and 3rd parties, and troubleshoot any import related barriers to collection. Regular liaison with customers, EHQ accounts, HMM GBR head office (Equipment / Logistics), the relevant operational/transport depts, depots, and HMM offices. Other duties as required. DIMENSIONS Reports to the Credit Control Supervisor (Southampton) PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Dealing with money collection from Credit and Cash customers for all trades calling UK. Management of Import Credit customers (including VIP Accounts) C Manage the Cash Ledger for any missed invoices and collection of detention, waiting time and drop off charges Prompt collection of monies due, in line with KPI requirements. Control and prompt action to be taken to log any queries received from customers and promptly pass to PIC of resolution. Chase / escalate if no response. Control of the query log and sending of all invoices via COMPASS / EDI system Prompt response to requests for statements and invoice copies Ensuring BACS or similar remits are sent to London as required for correct allocation of money Liaise with customers and suppliers as required. Compilation of reports, main reporting focal point for EHQ Accounts related import collections / bypass (due coordination Import CSR / Credit Control) Become an expert for COMPASS in programs related credit control, imports, accounts. In liaison with senior staff and also export credit control, troubleshoot any issues / impediments to swift collection of funds. The job holder will work closely with customers, EHQ accounts, the Equipment / Logistics / Operations teams, and other HMM agencies / departments as required. They will need a strong understanding of the import process. PROBLEMS FACED Communications within an international business are always challenging. The role requires focus, excellent communications skills and import customer service experience. DIRECTION RECEIVED Instructions of supervisor / line manager, also taking initiative and exercising due discretion. WORKING CONTACTS Externally; Customers, Port Terminals, Storage depots Internally; HMM GBR Imports, EHQ Accounts, HMM Port Operations, Equipment, Logistics staff, and other agencies/departments as necessary.
