Sales Manager

We are seeking a Sales Manager to drive the acquisition of profitable engineering contracts for a fantastic client. This role is pivotal in generating commercial and technical proposals, supporting sales activities, and building lasting customer relationships to achieve the overall business objectives.



Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage customer expectations, secure profitable contracts, and identify opportunities to grow sales and profitability.
  • Define and manage processes associated with enquiry management and customer follow-up.
  • Ensure project concepts and plans are produced, communicated, and understood across the business.
  • Take responsibility for assigned accounts and act as the key point of contact during the proposal and sales phases.
  • Manage risk across technical, commercial, financial, and program aspects to protect the company.
  • Meet sales targets for profitability, revenue, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Work closely with the Directors and Management team to set and maintain the department's direction and strategy.
  • Produce business plans and acquire market knowledge to increase sales opportunities and profitability.
  • Ensure deadlines set by customers and the organisation are met, including the delivery of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Manage your own development and mentor other team members.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably within the engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in managing a sales pipeline and developing business plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and manage risks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of market trends and the ability to use this information strategically.
