Forest School Lead


Empowering Learning are looking for a Forest School Lead to work in a SEND Provision in Nottinghamshire. The ideal candidate should have experience of working with SEND children, though this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will: Tutoring or training experience Experience of running forest school sessions High level of outdoor learning Have the ability to teach across the age groups. Knowledge of secondary age curriculum expectations Be highly organised with excellent communication skills Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds Have excellent behaviour management skills Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.Main Responsibilities: Teaching and leading in forest school provision within SEND school. Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning. Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy Safeguarding vulnerable pupils Possible supervising on lunch and break times Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom Building relationships with staff and pupils Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils Potentially lead in a subject area Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carersBenefits of working with Empowering Learning: Dedicated consultant allocated to support you with any questions or concerns.
