Job title: Cost Controller/Engineer Job Type: Permanent Start date: Subject to Clearance Duration: Permanent Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: £45,000-£50,000 per annum Location: Whitehaven Applicants must have experience of the following: -As a Cost Engineer a minimum of 5-7 years experience working in a similar role -Nuclear industry experience or experience in a relevant field -ONC/HNC/HND in related engineering or accounting discipline or a degree qualification - Appropriate experience in an engineering and/or construction company environment dealing with the financial, cost and contract control of engineering design, procurement of materials, equipment and services, manufacture, delivery and site implementation and construction - Maintenance of complete and accurate reporting, on a routine basis, of cost control data on a specific project. - To liaise with all project control staff to ensure effective and efficient running of the Project Control Group Ideally applicants should also have: Role information: Providing the project with complete and accurate cost control services, in association with the Project Manager/Project Control Manager prepare a cost control strategy. Main Responsibilities: -Proactively forecast, trend and analyse software, hardware and construction cost using EVA techniques and all other available data -Identify cost variances as early as possible and report issues to the Project Manager/Project Control Manager and develop mitigation strategies. -Recognise the impact risks & opportunities will have on the Estimate At Completion. -Maintain communications and dialogue with other Project Control personnel (planners, document controllers, estimators) to help ensure excellence in delivery of Project Control function. -Issue project cost reports in accordance with the requirements of the Principal Cost Controller / Project Manager,/ Project Control Manager, Project Execution Plan and the Business Operating Procedures (Including Project Finical Statement, Procurement Cost Report, and cost flows) -As required by the Project Manager/Project Control Manager, attend internal and external project progress reviews.
