Trainee Health and Safety Advisor

Clearfield Recruitment are looking for a motivated Trainee Health and Safety Advisor who is eager to learn and grow within the field of construction safety management. This position offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in health and safety practices, with a clear path towards assuming greater responsibilities and leadership as a Health and Safety Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities: * Assist in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. * Support the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs. * Collaborate with project teams to assess risks, develop safety plans, and monitor safety performance on construction sites. * Assist in investigating incidents and near misses, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence. * Provide guidance and support to site personnel on safety best practices and procedures. * Assist in maintaining safety records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. * Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions as required. * Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of construction safety management. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred). * Previous experience or coursework in health and safety, construction, or a related field is advantageous but not required. * Strong commitment to safety and a desire to pursue a career in construction safety management. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and responsibilities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
