Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEMH Secondary School * Position: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) * Location: SEMH Secondary School, Bromley * Contract Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm opportunity * Salary:Competitive, dependent on experience About Us: We are recruiting for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Secondary School dedicated to providing exceptional support and education for students with diverse needs. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. As an integral part of our support staff, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored assistance to students with SEMH needs, supporting their learning, development, and well-being. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering differentiated lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of students. * Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, aiding their academic progress and emotional regulation. * Collaborate closely with teaching staff and external professionals to implement effective support strategies and interventions. * Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). * Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement, participation, and achievement. * Conduct welfare check-ins, interventions, and behaviour management techniques as required. * Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress, behaviour, and welfare. Requirements: * Previous experience working as a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant or similar role within a SEMH or SEN setting. * Relevant qualifications and training in supporting students with SEMH needs, such as Team Teach, or similar. * Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies, with a compassionate and patient approach. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. * Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community. * Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain). * Flexibility, resilience, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs.
