Mechanical Design Engineer


Teamjobs is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our exclusive client in Yeovil.

This is fantastic opportunity for self-motivated engineer who have an experience at aerospace industry.

You will be required to design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

Is required of having knowledge about engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Including knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field and able working under supervision to perform function of the job.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm, however there may be some flexibility to work your hours over 4 days.

Pay rate is 40.00- 45.00 p/h (depending on experience).

Our client is able to offer 1 month's support with accommodation, if required, up to 400 per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Focusing on REACH obsolescence within our current product range, identifying reach obsolescence and investigating appropriate alternatives based upon product specification.
  • Able to support the development concepts design including supporting analysis, with a keen awareness of manufacturing mythologies and a mind on cost.
  • Require detail design work and processing of engineering changes.
  • Responsibility of all drawings and associated project documentation.
  • Able working on complex aerospace engineering projects across a variety of remits.

Following the above criteria there are necessary skills requirements:

-Attention to details by reviewing existing drawings for reach obsolescence and create investigation reports.

-Produce detailed design and layouts to meet customer requirement and specification.

-Be responsible for the completion and checking of drawing packs and any other supporting documentation.

-Be committed to delivering against project schedules and meeting project milestones whilst working within a multiproteic team environment.

-Ability to work in a flexible environment and stretch beyond your zone.

-Experience of small component design, design for manufacture principles and fine tolerance components is desirable.

The successful candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to pass all appropriate background and security checks.
