Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: Lead a team of 14-15 members, setting the standard for excellence in performance and safety adherence. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  2. Safety Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices, including Risk Assessments (RA's), Safe Systems of Work (SSOW's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and driving standards. Regularly "walk the floor" to identify and address safety concerns.
  3. Production Management: Ensure adequate coverage for production lines, manage hourly production KPIs, and drive performance to meet or exceed targets. Provide detailed reporting on shift activities and hand over effectively to incoming shift managers.
  4. Incident Response: Effectively manage and lead incident response on-site, including fires, breakdowns, and accidents. Act swiftly and decisively to minimize disruptions.
  5. Quality Standards: Uphold quality standards through testing, sampling, and ensuring required testing is carried out. Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
  6. Training and Development: Identify training requirements and skills gaps within the team. Implement training plans to reduce unplanned downtime and improve team capabilities.
  7. Compliance and Environmental Standards: Ensure compliance with environmental standards and factory guidelines. Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
  8. Sub-Contractor Oversight: Ensure all subcontractors work safely and follow health and safety protocols.
  9. Maintenance Management: Manage daily 1st line maintenance to minimize downtime. Support delivery of planned maintenance tasks.
  10. Accountability: Be accountable and responsible for all actions on your shift, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
