About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at our Tattenhall site, you will be instrumental in carrying out preventative, scheduled, and reactive maintenance across our factory and site equipment. Reporting directly to the General Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our machinery operates at its best, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of a wide range of equipment, including shrink wrappers, pumps, drives, inkjet labels, mixers, conveyor belts, and all other manufacturing process machinery.

  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and mitigate quality issues.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for machinery and operational practices in alignment with our manufacturing strategy.

  • Diagnose faults and conduct breakdown repairs of the site and factory equipment, supporting shift managers in addressing all failures.

  • Maintain effective communication and reporting on maintenance activities and equipment faults.

  • Food Safety, Health & Safety / HR:

  • Promptly report any health and safety or food safety issues to the relevant managers.

  • Operate machinery only if trained and authorised, ensuring maintenance aligns with legislative, business, and site procedures.

  • Uphold the highest standards of diligence, respect, and integrity in all interactions on site.

About you

  • Qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering, with proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer.

  • A results-driven individual with a continuous learning mindset and a passion for mastering new machinery.

  • Excellent communication skills and self-motivation, with a commitment to high standards.

  • An organised, team-oriented individual with a positive, proactive approach to work.

  • Demonstrates flexibility, honesty, integrity, and effective time management skills.
