CDM Consultant/Principal Designer


CDM Consultant/Principal Designer An independent, established Health & Safety Consultancy require a CDM Consultant/Principal Designer to complement it's existing team. The role will be cover mainly London Projects and will be home based with a need to attend meetings in London on a regular basis. The role will require sound knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the following on a range of projects: * Develop sound working relationships with the design teams and client * Undertake and lead CDM workshops with multi-disciplinary design teams and Principal Contractors, challenging both permanent and temporary works design with respect to health and safety * Develop the pre-construction information and advise the client on gaps on this information * Liaison with the Principal Contractor in order that the Construction Phase Plan is suitably developed * Advising and supporting the client on discharging their duties * Development of the Health and Safety File Responsibilities: You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to: * Managing the role of Principal Designer / Principal Designer Adviser & CDM Adviser under the CDM Regulations. * Manage and ensure the delivery of Health and Safety Consulting team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards. * Develop strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team. * Providing wider Health & Safety consultancy services to clients. * Preparation of fee proposals – attendance at Client presentations if required. * Be a primary interface with clients (new and existing). * Provide full Health & Safety consultancy duties to clients. Preferred Qualifications: * Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered or Graduate status with the IOSH. * Degree qualified * Membership of Association for Project Safety * NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety preferred (or equivalent) * Professional qualification in a construction, engineering, building surveying or building services discipline - desirable * Memberships of either, CMIOSH, IMaPS/CMaPS and/or IEng/CEng, RIBA or equivalent
