As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people! Our 183 Ashby Road residential service in Burton on Trent is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. 183 Ashby Road is a transition service supporting up to five young adults to build their skills and confidence with the goal of moving towards more independent living. The people who live at 183 Ashby Road are aged between 18 and 30 with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs and are supported to be happy, healthy and make the most of every opportunity. We encourage everyone to develop their skills and work towards their own individual goals. Each person is supported to make choices and express their hopes and wishes using their preferred form of communication, and to plan activities around these. Some examples of things individuals currently living here like to do are regular outings to the cinema, theatre, sports centres and shops. This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.
