Registered Manager (Children & Young People)


Ironstone Recruitment are looking for an experienced Registered Manager ​to join a fantastic new Children’s Home based in South East Cornwall. You will be a vital part of setting up this new home; the home will accommodate up to 2 young people aged 10 – 16 upon admission. This home will cater to young people with mild to moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The young people would have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a range of developmental traumas. As a registered manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home and the development of the established team. Using Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) model, you will lead a dedicated team in a culture where children are respected, heard and involved in their own lives. You will understand therapeutic parenting principles well and be committed to achieving outstanding outcomes. The children have often had many adults come in and out of their lives, adding to their trauma and feelings of rejection. Therefore, we seek a committed and dedicated Registered Manager. You will be a natural at building a rapport with children, enjoy play & adventure and be someone full of empathy so you can understand and relate to the children you work with, providing them with a home full of love and support. You will lead the team in giving the young people a loving, caring environment, supporting them through education and life skills in a warm, nurturing environment. The leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the residential childcare sector. Our client will source and deliver engaging, up-to-date training opportunities such as the Management Academy (ILM Level 5) and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career. We know how important it is that we look after you so you can look after the children who need you. Our client have maintained the Investors in People Gold Award. You will need to have at least three years’ experience within management roles working in a Children’s Residential Setting, hold or be willing to work towards your level 5 in leadership and management and have a minimum of Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification alongside having a proven track record with Ofsted and a sound understanding of the legislative framework surrounding residential childcare. Due to the location of the Home, a Driving Licence is Essential.
