Income Protection Claims Assessor


Due to continues growth my client, a household name in the UK insurance industry, currently seeks a number of experienced Income Protection Claims Assessors to join their friendly team (remote or hybrid). Duties will include: * Gathering a range of evidence in order that the claim can be assessed effectively. * Managing the claim from receipt through to settlement. * Handling all aspects of customer communication throughout the claims process. * Liaising with internal and external sources in order to secure all necessary information in order to effectively assess claims. * Use of technical expertise, knowledge and logical reasoning to accept or decline claims, ensuring that the customer is made aware at all times. * Taking ownership of appeals and complaints and ensuring that they are handles in a fair, compliant and transparent fashion. * Support less experienced colleagues with training and development. * Handling complex and contentious claims involving fraud or potential litigation. * Providing input into opportunities for process and procedural improvement. Applicants must possess a proven background in Income Protection (or medical) claims with the ability to assess from receipt through to settlement. You will possess good all round medical knowledge along with a thorough understanding of claims processes and philosophy. Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite along with the ability to handle sensitive situations using empathy and understanding.
