Workshop Engineer

Workshop Technician Job Type: Full-time Location: Trafford Park Salary: £26-28k Monday - Friday 7.30am-4pm (Monday-Thursday) 7.30am- 3pm (Friday)We are seeking a Workshop Technician with a strong background in mechanical operations and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing workshop services, including fluting and grinding of mill cylinders, sieve recovering, small repairs, and occasional upgrades/overhauls, under the supervision of the Engineering Works Manager. Day to Day of the role: Operate CNC & PLC machines for fluting and grinding of mill cylinders. Handle manual press and lathe operations. Conduct quality control and inspection with detailed accuracy using tools such as micrometers. Manually dismantle and rebuild roll packs & perform bearing fitting services. Complete and store all necessary documentation using MS Office tools. Maintain and ensure efficient operation of Buhler equipment on-site.Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous machine workshop experience is essential. Experience with manual lathe and cylindrical grinding is preferable. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Skilled in CNC machine set-up and operation. Ability to use measuring instruments effectively. Experience with fluting and grinding machines would be a distinct advantage. Excellent people skills and a sharp focus on customer service. Good organisational and planning skills. IT knowledge, particularly MS Office. Good time management skills. Team player who is flexible, responsible, and accountable
