Market Research Analyst Internship


Role This internship will be for a relatively new start-up with an innovative imaging product in the biotechnology sector. We have a well-developed business plan but consider that it could be strengthened with some further market research to gain additional competitor and market intelligence. The analyst will be tasked with conducting a project developing and implementing a market research strategy to reinforce our overall business plan and examine our product offering. Duties and responsibilities The analyst will work with the team to gain an understanding of the business, the market, our current business plan and our need. Using this they will develop a workplan to deliver the project objectives. Approaches that we are considering include bringing our current analysis up to date, researching the competitor’s business using publicly available data and business databases and conducting some small-scale market research. It will be the responsibility of the analyst to consider other possible approaches and propose the final methodologies. The project deliverable will be a short report presenting the new data and proposing future strategies. Skills and experience * Understanding of Business management and/or Marketing. * Ability to conduct independent online research. * Good communication skills both written and verbal. * Able to think analytically and develop strategy. * Some knowledge of market research techniques would be desirable. * The role would suit a third-year business studies or MBA student.
