Food Maintenance Engineer


We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client in Doncaster!

Maintenance Engineer (Food Manufacturing not meat produce)
GBP42,370 + shift handover pay (equates to extra GBP10,000 on top of salary)
3 shift rotation (Days, After, Nights or Fixed Shift) 8hr shifts + 30 minute handover

We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a leading food production company in Doncaster. This is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of our client s production facility. Responsible for both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance using Shire systems.

Shift Pattern:

Rotation:
Days = 6am to 2pm Mon to Fri
Afters = 2pm to 10pm Mon to Fri
Nights = 10pm to 6am Sun to Thurs

OR

Fixed Night Shift:
10pm to 6am Sun to Thurs

What will the Maintenance Engineer be required to do?

  • Conduct maintenance on machinery, fixtures, fittings, and buildings, including electrical systems.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
  • Collaborate with production and technical staff to identify areas for maintenance and engineering improvements.
  • Manage the ordering and organisation of plant/machinery items and spares.
  • Ensure thorough documentation control for all maintenance activities.
  • Execute all Planned Preventative Maintenance on schedule to company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to swiftly resolve any operational issues.
  • Monitor machinery performance and proactively initiate improvement measures to minimise downtime.
  • Communicate safety issues, quality concerns, and machinery problems effectively.
  • Support production improvements, projects, and reconfigurations as needed.
  • Implement work in accordance with relevant business processes and quality systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

What we need from the Maintenance Engineer?

  • 17th or 18th Edition BS7671 certification desirable
  • Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship or qualifications
  • Previous experience in maintenance role, preferable in a factory environment
  • HACCP desirable
