Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon


We are looking for a dedicated Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our team.  About the role: You will be based in our purpose built Practice located in the beautiful market  town of Easingwold. Conveniently located outside of York and on the doorstep of  the Howardian Hills and North Yorkshire Moors. You will be part of a dynamic team with an excellent reputation. Very Varied Caseload. Regular in-house clinical meetings and discussions. Large and expanding farm client base, with regular routine fertility visits & herd  health planning for both cattle and sheep. Total Vet, Vet Impress, bull/ram fertility testing etc. Very varied mix of work, and to a degree the role can be tailored to accommodate  an individual's areas of enthusiasm on a daily basis. It is important that you are  happy to deal with all species out of hours. The duty rota includes both first and second call and is shared evenly between 12  vets. There is also a nurse on duty out of hours, which allows for good support in  an emergency situation. Supported by certificate holders, diploma holders and experienced clinicians. The out of hours Rota always includes two Vets on call, equally shared between 12  Vets, allowing a 1 in 6 pattern. The daily working pattern incorporates both half days and full days off in lieu of  on call duties and working occasional Saturday mornings. We are looking for a proactive person with a proactive approach to veterinary care. Salary of up to £55,000 for the right applicant. Benefits of the role: Unlimited CPD Budget. We are a mixed practice with a team of 20 vets. 14 of these are mixed vets, with 2 dedicated small animal vets, dedicated poultry and pig vets and ruminant vets making up the team. This ensures we can fulfil the requirements of all our clients whatever their needs. All the vets are based at the practice. The Practice has 3 consult rooms, a large operating theatre, busy prep area and separate kennels for dogs and cats.. There is also a separate room for radiography and ultrasound scanning. In 2017 we opened a farmers' shop alongside our extensive warehouse facility and we are now a one stop shop for the farming community. In addition to medicines and vaccines, we stock a huge range of animal health products here. This site also houses our dedicated poultry PM room and we are able to run our in-house worming service using the latest Fekpak technology. We aim to provide informed and practical advice together with competitively priced goods and services. We believe that prevention is better than cure and like to work closely with our clients to maximise health, welfare, and productivity. We offer a daily delivery service to all our farm clients. Our people are what make us and ensure we maintain our excellent reputation. The company has grown in size over the past few years and we now have over 60 members of staff working with us. Our team consists of vets, nurses, paraprofessionals, reception, accounts, practice admin, dispensers, sales, technical support, drivers and warehouse staff.
