Managing Quantity Surveyor Refurbishment, Extensions, Cut & Carve, New-build North Derbyshire, DE56 £60,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance + Private Healthcare + Bonus + 6% Pension (increases 1% every 3 years) + Phone/Laptop + 26 days holiday (increases 1 day every 3 years) An opportunity to join a company at an interesting time in their journey. Over the past 8 years they have now created a major projects division that focuses on projects valued £2m - £15m new-builds and cut & carves. Sectors include retail, education, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, offices. Currently turnover is at £70m and you would be instrumental in growing this. Particularly with a focus on the new-build education element. The company has been established for many years and a high proportion of their workload is on a repeat basis which is testimony to the quality of project they deliver for their clients. Their core sectors of work include industrial, commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare and education including new-build, fit-out and refurbishment. As a business they enjoy very good levels of staff retention and have an excellent reputation for investing in the training and development of their employees; they also have excellent routes for career progression for their staff including at Senior Estimator level. The Role You will be walking into a well-structured business with layers of management to support you in your new role. There will also be a team of varying level Surveyors to support you and relying on your leadership. General duties will include: Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place Carry out cost management including forecasting Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans and have accountability, along with the project team for the commercial performance and strategy Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit Actively seek to improve and understand processes and procedures Ensure that any main contracts entered have terms and conditions that are appropriate, with commercial risks identified Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions Ensure that good client relationships are fostered Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational site teams Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors
