Substance Misuse Worker


The post holder, working in partnership with other relevant services, will provide a client centred, evidence-based, non-judgemental and recovery orientated service aimed at supporting, advising and helping young people and adults, affected by a range of problem substance use issues to reduce, control and cease that use. The core function of this role is the delivery of positive safety and well-being outcomes for children and families who are affected by substance misuse. It expects all employees to understand, comply with and promote its policies in their own work, undertake any appropriate training to help them to challenge prejudice or discrimination. * Providing support, information, and advice to individuals in relation to substance misuse as appropriate. * Comprehensive substance misuse screenings and assessments of young people * Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post treatment support, including transfer of care. * Collation, analysis and data entry recording of Youth Justice substance misuse stats on to varying systems * Deliver 1 to 1 key working and group work sessions * To use and assess Gillick Competency (in line with Fraser Guidelines) for young people under the age of 16
