The Electrical Design Engineer is a customer-facing role for a highly skilled, qualified individual to pioneer innovations and advanced designs for our Food processing equipment. The Electrical Design Engineer will design electrical systems from scratch working with the Mechanical engineering team to broaden product versatility and improve systems performance in order to guarantee that our client continues to provide innovative solutions and product leadership in the food processing industry.

Skills & Experience
Necessary Qualifications/Skills
A qualified Electrical engineer with a minimum of a Batchelors degree or an HNC in Electrical, Electromechanical, Robotics, Automation or Food Processing discipline. Or 5+ years experience in a relevant role
You will have a current and proven track record as an Electrical Design Engineer having designed the electrical systems required for the operation of capital equipment or special purpose machinery.
You will have experience of incorporating gearboxes, motors, PLC s, servo controllers & safety devices into machinery.
You will have experience creating electrical drawings with AutoCAD and Draftsight.
You will be able to efficiently troubleshoot electrical and/or control systems.
You will be naturally inquisitive and a collaborative team player.
You will have a hands on approach.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people via reports, emails and verbal communication.
You will ensure accuracy in your own work as most projects are of a bespoke nature.
You will be comfortable working autonomously and managing your time effectively within a small UK design department with additional support from a larger US team.
Desirable Qualifications/Skills
Programming or coding experience, or an interest in this area.
Food processing equipment electrical design.
Electro-Mechanically qualified and or experience in systems design.
Knowledge of factories and how production lines work.
Previous experience with an equipment manufacturer - food industry experience is highly desirable.
