Service Engineer

Job Specification For: Service Engineer Ref: VR/04794 Inspire Resourcing are representing a growing business in the Chesterfield area who are looking to expand their team with an experienced Service Engineer. This role requires frequent and sometimes short notice travel to many parts of the world. It is expected that this could be up to 30-40% of your working time. You will be responsible for planning and booking your own travel to the destination required. This role will comprise of two main aspects – Servicing and Testing Service Responsibilities: * Servicing of existing commissioned equipment on site * Responding to any breakdowns or fault in equipment * Troubleshooting and resolving electrical, mechanical or software issues * Co-ordinating with the customer or any other third parties * Provide any necessary training or essential information to the clients team * Completing site visit reports, time sheet, commissioning documents and any other paperwork necessary Testing Responsibilities: * Setting up and Programming PLCs, HMIs to the required standard * Testing electrical control units to ensure compliant with the required outputs * Fault finding in the event of non-compliance of electrical controls and performing root cause analysis investigations to understand the failure mode * Implementation of corrective and preventative actions to return the controls to required standard and outputs. * Maintaining, supporting and upgrading hardware & software in line with business requirements * Complete all required electrical controls support in line with production schedule Experience Required: * Basic knowledge of PLC’s and HMI’s * Competent in reading Electrical and Mechanical Drawings * Hydraulic experience is preferred * Experience in either Plant or other heavy manufacturing environments Qualifications: * Time served or recognised qualification in an Engineering discipline – Electrical Bias * Minimum of 2 years electrical installation experience in an industrial setting * ESC or CSCS Card is Advantageous This role requires frequent and sometimes short notice travel to many parts of the world.
