Job title: Mechanical or Mech/Elec Locomotive Fitter Job location: Port Talbot Salary: £19.38 p/h PAYE, earnings up to £41,763.00 plus overtime Shifts: Days / Nights - 4 on / 4 off Hours per week: 42 hours per week plus overtime Duration: Ongoing contract or permanent Start date: Immediate Industries considered: Rail Mechanics, REME, Agricultural, ex Forces Engineering, HGV, Mobile Plant Disciplines considered: Mechanical Fitter, Mech/Elec Fitter Client Summary: A Market Leader in Logistics/Rail Freight, Maintenance and Repair Position Summary: We are expanding our existing team of Locomotive Engineers at our Depot in the Midlands and are looking to engage a number of Locomotive Fitters The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the Safety and Maintenance of the Companies busy Fleet of Class 66 and 60 Locomotives in line with company Standards and Procedures Person Profile/Experience: A skilled mechanic and ideally time served, you will have previous experience of undertaking maintenance, service and repair work on Diesel Locomotives with a preference to experience of Class 66 although other Diesel Loco experience will be readily considered. You may have a current PTS but this is not essential as successful candidates will undertake a local PTS course - Maintain, service, fault find and repair Locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local manager - Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standards - Indicate and evidence your capabilities in undertaking works to diagnose, fault find. Repair and maintain Mechanical driven mobile units be they HGV, PSV, Agricultural, Military, Trains, Planes or Automobiles You will be physically fit and healthy, you will be required to undertake a NWR related medical and drugs & alcohol test which must be passed before any offer can be made, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.
