Multi Skilled Engineer - Mechanical Bias

Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation. We are looking for an Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same. As the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services. This role has a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, alternating both days and nights. As the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for: * Ensure that the day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of building maintenance is completed in line with our contractual obligations. * Maintenance and repairs on installations such as: * Ventilation systems - (AHU, Intake / extract), heating and cooling systems (thermal wheels, FCU's etc.) and water system assets, such as booster sets, chlorifiers, water heaters etc. * Ensure all assets are maintained in accordance with the O&M Manuals * Assist in supervising contractors and sub-contractors and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations * Ensure that all reactive calls are closed out in line with our contractual time scales * Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Company policy. (Fire regulations, COSHH, Safe working practices, PPE, PAT testing etc) * Ensure all building fabric elements are functional and operational within design parameters and carry out reactive repairs within agreed response and rectification times * Keep all plant/rooms / services enclosures clean, tidy safe and secure * Assist other engineers / staff with their duties as required * Undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be necessary during the course of your working shift. To be successful for this Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer role you must have: * Time served apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification in a Plumbing and an HVAC or gas type of discipline. * Great working knowledge of Condensers, chillers, A/C, AHU calorifiers. * Good understanding of Electrical and Fabric discipline. * IOSH WS, legionella, PASMA, IPAF confined space would all be an advantage. * Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract. * Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults. * Ability to record work accurately on computer-based systems via a PDA. * Ability to effectively prioritise own workload. * Flexibility and adaptability to change / flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive). * Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg. * Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service. * Must hold a full UK driving licence.
