Training Area Operative Variable Days


Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Fort George Ranges, Ardersier, Scotland. As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract. We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant. You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week. You will be required to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance. Main ResponsibilitiesPreparing military ranges and training areas for use Preventative maintenance Grounds maintenance Forestry and maintenance works Manufacturing targets Calibrating electronic target systems Equipment testing Driving and operating fleet vehicles To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work Liaise with stakeholders Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation Handover and takeback of training areas and accommodation Cleaning accommodation and range complex The Ideal CandidateKnowledge in H&S such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessment and safe systems of work Experience of track and fencing maintenance and working in rural environments Have a full drivers licence valid in the United Kingdom Ability to operate rural plant and machinery (holds valid certificate) not essential as training will be given Willingness to undertake any training required Basic IT skills About The CompanyLandmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE).
