Junior Contracts Manager


Junior Contracts Manager Location: WIckford, Essex Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (Dependant on experience) Department: Contracts Department Responsible to: Contracts Director Responsible for: Site Team Foremen, Operatives & sub-contractors Main purpose of job To positively develop and nurture enduring client relationships. To effectively administer simultaneous minor works (typically 10-15 small jobs), site operations, resources, sub-contractors and site personnel to achieve required standards of Quality, Programme and Budget. Responsibilities * Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers via telephone, email and written correspondence. * Arrange for minor works site surveys. * Liaise with attending surveyor to acquire good understanding of each project and prepare minor works estimates for forwarding to the client. * Receive sub-contractor estimates and prepare those for forwarding to the client. * Coordinate planned minor weeks. * Ensure that works are planned to be carried out in a safe manner, adhering to Health and Safety Legislation, policies and procedures and utilising support of Health and Safety Manager. * Seek out and achieve 'better buying’ on sub-contractors, materials and plant whenever possible. * Allocate labour and transport effectively for minor works under your control. * Complete commercial and accurate purchasing. * Collate and retain site records after works are completed. * Plan, monitor and manage costs to achieve agreed margins and budgets. * Plan, monitor and manage performance on site to achieve agreed quality standards and defect levels. * Plan, monitor and manage operations to ensure that project programme is achieved. * Prepare valuation of minor works in preparation for invoicing. * Communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees and attend and contribute to periodic management meetings. * Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
