Position: Behavior Support Assistant

Salary Range: GBP12.82 per hour

Location: Bournemouth and Christchurch

Start Date: Immediate or September start

Working Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm

GSL Education are supporting local primary schools with their Behaviour Support Assistant recruitment, ranging from part to full-time positions. If you are seeking a role where you can support pupils learning whilst also helping to manage behaviour effectively, then this role could be for you! GSL are seeking individuals who either have prior SEN support experience, or the passion, enthusiasm and initiative to thrive within this role.

As a Behavior Support Assistant, you will be providing tailored support for pupils within mainstream primary schools. Despite the schools being mainstream, they have higher percentages of SEN which means that the role will consist of supporting pupils within the classroom and providing tailored provision where necessary for SEN pupils. Therefore, any previous experience or knowledge of SEN is extremely desirable.

The position is open for candidates who are looking for part time or full time work, including individuals who are seeking some flexible supply work. These roles could lead to a permanent position if desired.

Qualities we are looking for:

  • Nurturing, resilient, reliable, flexible, uses initiative, effective behaviour management
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN/ additional learning difficulties would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities :

  • The Behaviour Support Assistant will actively participate in classroom activities, collaborating with teachers to enhance the overall learning experience for primary school students.
  • As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your primary focus will be on providing personalised support to students, so that all pupils can access the learning at their level
  • Beyond academics, the Behaviour Support Assistant will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, actively promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to the development of a supportive school community.
