Radio Frequency Design Engineer


Job Title: Radior Frequency Design Engineer Salary: up to £60,100 per annum dependent upon experience Location: Chelmsford or Cowes We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a RF Design Engineer. The role can be based at either the Chelmsford or Cowes sites and offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours- individual circumstances will be discussed. They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. You will join the Hardware Development team in a technical role relating to the RF aspects of hardware design. The post holder will apply a breadth of design expertise and knowledge to generate RF design solutions for both new products and technology insertions into legacy products. You will also be capable of generating detailed designs from concept to completion and addressing a range of engineering issues. Main Responsibilities: * Detailed RF circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and preparing guidance for PCB design teams * Electromagnetic simulation and analysis * Specification of bespoke procured hardware * Design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installations * Generating design documentation and technical reports * Interfacing with related disciplines including systems engineering, mechanical/thermal engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Safety, Product Data Management, and manufacturing areas * Adherence to Engineering Lifecycle and contributing to progress, peer, and design reviews * Assisting in the development of higher-level system designs * Supporting system integration activities Benefits: * Enhanced Pension scheme- up to 14% combined * Flexible working pattern including working from home/ flexible start and finish times * 25 holiday days plus bank holidays- 26 days after 5 years’ service/ 27 days after 10 years’ service * Shared Incentive Plan * Employee Assistance Programme * Cycle to Work Scheme * Life Assurance (you and your spouse/ partner)- 6 x salary * Ill Health Income Protection/ Private Medical Insurance- 50% of salary About You: * A degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject or relevant work experience * Experience of generating component level circuit design for introduction into volume production * Experience of board-level RF design and/or Direct Digital Synthesis and high-power RF techniques * Confident using RF test equipment * Experience of design proving, integration, and defect resolution You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years About Aeropeople: Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team… Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
