Maintenance Engineer - DAYS

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Engineer Hours of Work: 8.30am-5pm (Monday to Friday) JOB PURPOSE: To provide cost effective maintenance support for electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure all equipment is fully operational to maximise business performance PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES: * Undertake routine servicing, electrical fault finding, tests and repairs to production equipment in a timely manner to ensure effective performance at all times. * Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance programme, including monitoring equipment to minimize breakdowns and inefficient operation * Undertake mechanical fitting, basic fabrication, PLC programming and Pyrometry to ensure equipment is fully functional to support customer workload. * Maintain and control stocks of spares including thermocouples and production consumables and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate. * Generate and maintain a Repairs and Maintenance budget and ordering system and submit a monthly maintenance summary report of work completed, including a record of downtime * Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and co ordinate activities to ensure compliance, including maintaining high standards of housekeeping within own area and throughout the plant * Ensure all activities are compliant with the Company’s Quality policy and procedures. * Deal professionally with customers, suppliers , contractors and other visitors in line with company policy and procedures KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED * Engineering aptitude with strong academic qualifications in Maths, English and Science ( preferably Physics). Minimum requirement 5 GCSE’s Grade A* - C or Level 9 – 5 and A Level in Maths and/or Science or BTEC Engineering Level 3 * Analysis skills to interpret electrical drawings to ensure effective maintenance * Ability to demonstrate proven diagnostic and problem solving skills and techniques * Good working knowledge and understanding of heat treatment processes * Experience of working within health, safety & environmental regulations * IT Proficient in Microsoft office applications
